NormaTec PULSE Sports Recovery
at Midwest Sport and Spine

Woman with Normatec on legsNormaTec is the leader in rapid recovery. Our systems give a competitive edge to the world’s elite athletes, coaches and trainers. Establishing recovery as an integral part of every athlete’s training is our goal. NormaTec systems are the best way to accomplish that!

The NormaTec PULSE Recovery Systems are dynamic compression devices designed for recovery and rehab. All of our systems use NormaTec’s patented PULSE technology to help athletes recover faster between trainings and after performance.

What to Expect

The NormaTec systems include a control unit and attachments which go on the legs, arms or hips. Compressed air is used to massage your limbs, mobilize fluid and speed recovery with the patented NormaTec Pulse Massage Pattern.

First, you will experience a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your exact body shape. Next, the session will then begin by compressing your feet, hands or upper quad (depending on which attachment you are using).

Then, each segment of the attachment will compress in a pulsing manner and then release. This is similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage. These compressions will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb.

The Three Keys to Your Recovery

NormaTec has three unique techniques that will maximize your results:

  • Pulsing. No static compression is used. Instead, dynamic compression mimics your muscle pump, enchaining fluid movements and getting metabolites out of the limbs after an intense workout.
  • Gradients. The valves on veins and lymphatic vessels prevent fluid backflow. This technology ensures fluids can’t be forced into the wrong direction with proper pressure in every zone.
  • Distal release. The Sequential Pulse Technology releases hold pressures once they’re not required to prevent backflow. By releasing this pressure, the limbs get maximum rest time without much pause between compression cycles.
